The 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

In April 2023, The European Friends of the POLIN Museum were able to visit Warsaw and the Museum. Yet it was not an ordinary visit. We participated in a series of events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising (19 April 1943 – 19 April 2023).

We visited Warsaw’s most emblematic sites and memory places, with exceptional guides who introduced us to their most recent findings and reflections on Jewish Polish memory. This history is alive, and many wonderful people are happy to share their findings.

We are absolutely grateful to those who has shown us their work, work of others, who talked us through the thriving intellectual journeys.

Below, you will find a few photographs which only partly show what we have seen and experienced. We hope that some of you will join us in other trips in the future.
