Polin Museum needs your support
At the outset, we promised to substantially assist the Museum over a period of at least ten years. We are now in the middle of our journey. We need you – we need your help.
Your donation to the AEMJP will enable the Association to assist the Polin Museum to continue functioning as a going concern.
In current political turmoil, and with the decreasing stability of political powers, we need you more than ever.
The role of this Museum is essential for the whole Jewish history. Poland was the country where Jews lived and flourished for one thousand years. This extraordinary narrative, which cannot be compared by its impact or by numbers with any other place where Jewish people lived, has to be cherished and remembered. This remarkable and wonderful history is stained by one of the most, if not the most horrible and incomprehensible event in the history of the World, the Shoah.
The Polin Museum is currently not only a place where the Jewish presence in Poland is displayed and celebrated, it is also the place where educational programs are developed, where thousands of young and old come to learn or to testify how to avoid the return of demons from the past. It also allows us to cement valuable new relations with Polish neighbours, who now, more than ever are enquiring into the mutual past.
Currently (2017), we are collecting funds to support two Polin projects:
- A new exhibition (to be opened in March 2018), which will be devoted to a particularly difficult event in Polish-Jewish history, the anti-Semitic events of March 1968. This is an absolutely unique exhibition that will honour the numerous Polish Jews who now live in various places in Europe and elsewhere.
- A new gallery honouring the world-wide heritage of the nine million Polish Jews now living all around the world (“Polish Jews in the World”)
- A new gallery creating a space to virtually meet the most extraordinary representatives of Polish Jewry (“In Good Company”).
Your support is essential. We would be delighted if you would like to become a Friend of the Polin by donating to European Association of the Museum of The History of Polish Jews (AEMJP).
