Les Amis de l’AEMJP préparent leur voyage annuel en Pologne. Cette fois, ils découvriront d’autres terres de mémoire juive. La Pologne occidentale et du sud, avec son mélange de cultures (allemande, polonaise, juive, orthodoxe, protestante…), comprend Wroclaw / Breslau (Silésie), Cracovie (Galice) et Oświęcim / Auschwitz.
Un voyage doux-amer, qui débutera par un passage à Varsovie où, au Musée POLIN, on participera à l’inauguration d’une nouvelle salle – la dernière – au sein de cette institution que nous soutenons. Nous irons ensuite à Cracovie, où se déroulera le festival annuel de culture juive. Après cela, nous quitterons la Galicie pour la Silésie, et nous allons explorer cette région largement absente des circuits habituels. Nous terminerons le voyage à Wroclaw/Breslau, une ville splendide où la bourgeoisie juive germanophone a vécu des moments .

Jewish culture festival in Krakow & Exhibition opening at the POLIN Museum in Warsaw.

The Friends of the AEMJP are preparing their annual trip to Poland. This time, they will discover other lands of Jewish memory. Western and Southern Poland, with its mix of cultures (German, Polish, Jewish, Orthodox, Protestant…), includes Wroclaw / Breslau (Silesia), Krakow (Galicia) and Oświęcim / Auschwitz.
A bittersweet journey, beginning with a stopover in Warsaw where, at the POLIN Museum, we’ll take part in the inauguration of a new room – the last – within this institution that we support. We’ll then move on to Krakow, where the annual festival of Jewish culture will take place. After that, we’ll leave Galicia for Silesia, and explore this region largely absent from the usual tours. We’ll end the trip in Wroclaw/Breslau, a splendid city where the German-speaking Jewish bourgeoisie lived .
